Why the Magic Words are coloured
Share
The brain is physically divided into the left and right hemispheres. The hemispheres are connected by a network of nerves.
The left hemisphere controls processes that include language, speaking, writing, mathematics, logic, sequencing and analysis.
The right hemisphere concentrates mainly on creativity, music, imagination, spatial patterns and colour recognition, and sees the whole picture.
Engaging both hemispheres of the brain greatly accelerates learning.
The Magic Words Playing Cards and literacy resources have been designed to use words (left hemisphere) and colour (right hemisphere) together so that students quickly master these important words.
